Not all black seed oil is created equal. Morphus ThymoQuin® is the real deal. It's the only full-spectrum, unrefined, virgin, cold-pressed black cumin seed oil that is standardized to 3% thymoquinone, the active ingredient that gives black seed oil its incredible, science-proven, nutrient-dense health benefits. And the best part? It contains less than 2% free fatty acids, which means our body can absorb it 3 to 4 times better than other black seed oils. So, you need less of it to work, and it starts working faster!
And that's not all. It also contains 0.8% sunflower lecithin and vitamin E, which help to improve stability and boost thymoquinone bioavailability. Most full-spectrum black seed oil products on the market contain 0.2 to 1.1% thymoquinone, but Morphus ThymoQuin® is in a league of its own
Is there solid research on the benefits of black seed oil? Yes! There have been approximately 1,000+ clinical studies since the mid-1960s on how black seed oil helps with different conditions, including maximizing healthy cell activity, which helps to support our immune system.
Fasting glucose, Insulin Resistance, HbA1C: In this study, taking 2 grams of Nigella sativa a day (which is equal in dosage to 4 Morphus ThymoQuin® softgels) showed “significant decreases in HbA1 without significant change in body weight. Fasting blood glucose was reduced by an average of 45, 62 and 56 mg/dl at 4, 8 and 12 weeks respectively. HbAlC was reduced by 1.52% at the end of the 12 weeks of treatment (P<0.0001). Insulin resistance calculated by HOMA2 was reduced significantly (P<0.01), while B-cell function was increased (P<0.02) at 12 weeks of treatment.” This study looked at 43 patients with type 2 diabetes who took 500mg of black seed oil 2x/day for 8 weeks. The results were as follows: “Compared with the placebo, the N. sativa oil significantly decreased Fasting Blood sugar, HbA1, total cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL-c, BMI, waist circumference and DBP (blood pressure).”
Metabolic Syndrome in Menopausal women: This study looked at 30 women in menopause between the ages of 45 and 60. They were given 1 gram a day (equivalent to 2 Morphus ThymoQuin® softgels) over an 8 week period. Here were the results: Significant improvement was observed in total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and blood glucose. The conclusion: These results suggested that treatment with N. sativa exert a protective effect by improving lipid profile and blood glucose which are in higher risk to be elevated during menopausal period.”
Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD): This study looked at 50 people who took 2 grams of black seed oil a day (which is equal in dosage to 4 Morphus ThymoQuin® softgels). The results were as follows: “Results have shown that two gram/day consumption of Nigella sativa can reduce inflammatory biomarkers in patients with NAFLD.” Another study looked at 44 people with NAFLD and showed, “NS (black) seed oil supplements may decrease the liver enzymes and lipid profiles in the patients with NAFLD and play a protective role in the liver via reducing the inflammation in this group of patients.”
Blood Pressure: This study looked at taking 100 to 200mg of black seed oil 2x a day for 8 weeks. The results showed it helped to lower blood pressure for those people with mild hypertension.
Heart Disease: This study looked at 60 patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) for 8 weeks. They received 2 grams of black seed oil (equivalent to 4 Morphus ThymoQuin® softgels) a day. The results were as follows: “NS significantly reduced weight, body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-to-hip ratio, systolic, diastolic blood pressure and fasting blood glucose as compared with the placebo group. The results indicate a potential beneficiary effect of NS on the metabolic parameters in CAD patients including improvements in anthropometric indices, blood pressure, and FBS.”
Osteoporosis & Bone Health: This animal study showed the benefits of taking black seed oil and its ability to reverse osteoporosis in rats without ovaries. The study, which took place over a 12-week period, looked at the rats for 4 weeks before removing their ovaries, and again for another 8 weeks after. The results: “Nigella sativa reverses osteoporosis in ovariectomized rats, which could be attributed to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids as well as its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Allergies / Hay fever (allergic rhinitis): This study with 66 individuals showed an improvement in “congestion, nasal itching, runny nose, sneezing attacks, turbinate hypertrophy, and mucosal pallor during the first 2 weeks (day 15).”
BMI, LDL, Triglycerides and HDL for Patients with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis: This study showed “Treatment with Nigella sativa significantly reduced body weight and body mass index (BMI). Serum concentrations of low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) and triglyceride (TG) also decreased in Nigella sativa-treated group after 8 weeks; while serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) significantly increased after treatment with Nigella sativa (P < 0.05). None of these changes had been observed in placebo treated group.”
Memory, Attention and Cognition: This study showed an improvement in brain health when taking 500mg of black seed oil 2x/day for nine weeks. “The current study demonstrates the role of NS in enhancing memory, attention and cognition.”
Arthritis and Joint Pain (Arthralgia): This study showed how “treatment with NS led to significant reduction of the serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) level and DAS-28 score and an improved number of swollen joints compared with baseline and placebo groups.”

Is there solid research on TriNutra’s ThymoQuinblack seed oil? Yes!
A study published in 2019 (Licari M, Raffaele M, Rosman Z, et al., J Nutr Food Sci 2019, 9:1), showed an improvement in fasting glucose, a decrease in LDL-C & oxidized LDL/HDL, maintenance of healthy blood pressure, and a decrease in hepatic (liver) fat, therefore supporting healthy liver function.*
Another study published in Food Science and Nutrition Research in 2020, showed an improvement in healthy blood pressure and heart rate after 6 weeks of supplementation with Thymoquin® in healthy people.
Another study showed how Thymoquin® reduced salivary cortisol levels in athletes.
A study published in 2022 showed how ThymoQuin® 3% has been shown to work in tandem with omega-3 oils to help improve their anti-inflammatory activity. We recommend trying it with our Omega 3-T for added anti-inflammatory benefits.
Research also showed how Thymoquin® can help to improve mood.
Research also shows taking ThymoQuin® with vitamin D can help to reduce TNF-a, a protein involved in systemic inflammation.
